Why do you need a Will and Power of Attorney?

A Will is a legal document that outlines how you wish your assets and belongings are distributed after your death. In Scotland, having a valid Will ensures your estate is administered according to your wishes, helping to avoid delays, disputes, or unintended outcomes under the laws of intestacy.

A Power of Attorney is a separate legal document that allows you to appoint someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you become unable to do so yourself, whether due to illness, accident, or incapacity. This can cover financial matters, property, and personal welfare.

Having both a Will and a Power of Attorney in place offers peace of mind and protection – ensuring your affairs are managed the way you want, by the people you choose, at a time when it matters the most.
